Faro airport is approximately 45 mins by road. There are local companies who offer reasonably priced transfers to and from Faro. You can of course hire a car, which can be booked online before you arrive for collection at the airport or organised after you land at Faro. We would recommend hiring a car to really enjoy this part of the Algarve - you can always arrange one for a few days from one of the many local car hire companies in Portimao if you find you would like to get out and about.
